Arpad Mondok (2007)

Árpád Mondok is a Gestalt-therapist working in thermal water with experience of confluence of Watsu, in the dark in the isolation of Trancedance and in the Anahata center (www.anahata.hu) in contemporary therapeutic settings. He is facilitating self awareness and therapeutic groups like the series of Transpersonal Workshops. His perspective is transpersonal (if you like shamanic or zen) and Gestalt has become the base of his therapeutic approach.

My own inner development started with zen buddhism as a teenager, to train my own body, as part of my martial arts training. Soon I experienced that there is no possibility to achieve balance without attending to the soul, so I turned my attention in this direction, also to strengthen my relationships. I have been more loving ever since, successfully raising my two children together with my wife, as well as partnering in our inner development.

He has worked with many people for nearly 20 years in many different relationships, but as a leader he come to realise that real relationship only exists if there is a commonly agreed and accepted joint path and objective. Neither as a leader nor as someone who is lead, but as equal partners together also being aware of their own self. These insights get him to the path and decision to become a therapist.

Arpad is a supervisor on the board of the Perinatus Foundation which helps spread knowledge and experience about the importance of birth patterns.

Arpad is Gestalt-therapist, also trained in Jungian therapy, dreamwork, regression, family constellation and several methods of Gestalt and breathwork. He is trained in the drawing therapy method of Ted Verhamme. Through these he learned to listen to his body, to realize the deeper relationship to emotions, thoughts, soul and spirit. He is a regular practicioner of zen, 5Rythm and Trance Dance.

Years of voluntary work lead to Arpad being elected as president of the Hungarian Transpersonal Association (MagyarTranszperszonalisEgyesület) in January 2009.

My shamanic learning started with Mark Hoek a decade ago, than a couple of years later I'v meet Wilbert Alix which was like a homecoming for me. Wilbert created a context for my self experience and a way to explore contemporary shamanic ritual. These experiences guided me to search further and eventually to study in the TranceDance Facilitator Training with Wilbert Alix. Ever since I facilitate Trancedance every month in Budapest, Hungary.
