I’m an occupational therapist working with elder people up to 102 years old, most of them with dementia. Amongst other things are my music-instruments very powerful tools to work with. Music (didgerido, drums, Tibetan singing bowls, ocean drum, rainstick,….), singing, dancing are very accurate communication tools, especially with non-verbal people.

In 2006 I started my spiritual exploration with zen-meditation, which is still an important part of my life. After wandering, shopping, growing in the spiritual world, I discovered in 2007 Trance Dance in Antwerp with Sara en Frans. Now it’s my most practiced passion.

Trance Dance makes me go deep inside myself and at the same time it enlarges my world enormously. I come into a space way beyond any boundaries.

Sometimes it’s healing, cleaning. Sometimes it gives me power, strength but also softness, support. Sometimes it’s old pain and sorrow I discover inside me. Sometimes it’s one big party and brightness. Sometimes it’s difficult to shut down my cognition during the dance. Sometimes I make wonderful spiritual journeys with the support of a power animal.

I prefer to dance on live music: all kind of drums, didgeridoo, kalimba, small percussion-instruments,… So I not only can hear the vibes, but also feel them, so the music can penetrate in every cell of my body.

I completed the Trance Dance Facilitator Training in Orval, Belgium, with Wilbert Alix in 2009.
